In addition to flight training, the club offers a ground school. Beginners are STRONGLY encouraged to enroll early in this important class which is the result of years of RC flight experience. Individuals attending the ground school typically progress through the training program at an accelerated rate compared to those who do not attend. Ground school covers the basic mechanics of flight, radio systems, engines & maintenance, airframes, terminology, support equipment, preventive and corrective maintenance, training syllabus, and other related items. The scope of the class is designed for the individual who is just starting out or reentering the hobby with the majority of the activity being hands-on. Recognizing that most mishaps are the consequence of errors BEFORE take-off, the course stresses topics relating to the airworthiness of your aircraft. Also covered are building tips and tricks not typically found in the "instruction book". Approximately, three hours in length, the class is a benefit offered on an appointment basis only.
